AUSTRALIAN GOVERNMENT CUTS FUNDING
The former Coalition government announced $1.2bn for a National Space Mission for Earth Observation (NSMEO), designing, building and operating four new satellites, in March 2022. In May 2022, an election was held bringing a new Australian Political party to power.
2020 - The Year Australia got much closer to orbit!
This is the first time I took The Space Down Under live! I was joined by my new co-host - Mark Steven - and we reflected on how much closer Australia came in 2020 to reaching orbit!!!
Australia Space Launch - Launch party, interview and a MOBILE launch facility
In May 2020, I was invited to a launch party during COVID-19 lockdown with Australia’s very own Space Family - Australia Space Launch.
Together we watched the Demo 2 Mission carry NASA astronauts Douglas Hurley and Robert Behnken to the International Space Station in the first crewed orbital spaceflight launched from the United States since the final Space Shuttle mission, STS-135, in 2011.
